LaToya comes from humble beginnings and understands the struggles many are facing today. High housing and food costs, low wages, expensive health and child care make it difficult to thrive. Working for us means putting people before profits and families before corporate interests. LaToya is the change Wisconsin needs.
LaToya is an educator and social entrepreneur. A Wisconsin native, she is a graduate of Alverno College and Cardinal Stritch University earning degrees in business, education and pastoral studies. While starting her career in nursing, an injury forced LaToya to take a different path. She spent years in early childhood education as a childcare director and consultant. Wanting to better serve her community, LaToya became a probation and parole agent, working with domestic violence and system impacted women. LaToya later returned to Alverno to earn a Master's in Education, then taught in public schools for over thirteen years, before moving to higher education. LaToya is part of a military family who farmed for many generations prior to migrating to Wisconsin. Through Emerald Farms and Agriculture, LaToya and her family are forming a cooperate and community farm to help small growers gain access to land, and bring Black families back to farming.
LaToya has served as a delegate for District 8 of the Wisconsin Farmers Union, for Dodge County at WisDems yearly state convention and represented the 6th Congressional District at the Democratic National Convention in 2024. She is the Co-Chair of both the Democratic Party of Dodge County and Democratic Party of Wisconsin's Disability Caucus.
LaToya will represent us in the assembly, putting families and workers first.
Our campaign is financed by people, not large corporations or special interest groups.
